Sunday, December 1, 2019 - Shiva for Lillian Moss age 110 - Poem: 110

The weather was just turning cold when Mike from Ben and Irv's showed up with the wonderful food.
I was waiting for him and took all the cellophane off with a scissors I found in the kitchen drawer.
The children enjoyed these fresh fruit pops.
Cole slaw, sour pickles, which taste great at the restaurant.

Edward Moss is Ada's older brother.

Yoo hoo! Edward you did a vanishing act like Houdini. We'll see him later.
Met another woman named Ruth. Her husband was not Boaz, nor was she a direct descendent to Christ. Last night Jesus Christ Superstar was on PBS. Emotionally powerful!

We had a great time, said Rich, but someone died.
Aaron Fleisher and wife Anissa. Their two kids were upstairs, with other kids, making a ruckus.

Edward Moss and daughter Jennifer.

Marjorie, Edward's girlfriend. Edward learned to live in Center City and likes it very much.

Ada packed up cookies for my mom which I delivered to her.
Our friend Margie was helping Mom clean.

We're searching for a hospital bed for Mom.

ONE HUNDRED TEN

Her reign here on earth
has finished
Lillian Moss
ensconced like a queen
in her royal chambers
may at last rest her vibrant
pumping heart.

They came from afar -
even California - to ease
her last breaths

She took no food
a woman whose daughter Ada
is a master chef

What Lillian knows
we do not know
Once I traveled
with her to a wedding
in Santa Barbara

Charming does not begin
to describe her personna
how strongly she gripped my hand
a new adventure for this elderly
grande dame

Whose dark eyes roamed
the new world with
curiosity.

<><>

Folks talked at the party
that Ada and Rich visited
nearly EVERY DAY. And
they walked her around
the facility.

Surely that helped
Gramma Moss, Mother Moss,
until her inner self said,
Time to go!
