Save your mind and watch something else. THREADBARE starred the great Daniel Day Lewis as an obsessive dressmaker. Fine. So what is wrong with the film?
He knew all the big shots in London and 'dressed them.' Fine. Good premise.
But she disobeyed him so she put poison mushrooms in his tea.
He nearly died but she nursed him back to life.
All the characters were wooden, as if they were robots. We cared for none of them, not even the star.
He survived, but that was enough for me. The film was endless. Over two hours.
I'd rather read a great book like HOW THE WORD IS SPREAD by Clint Smith, about enslaved people and how they lived and died. Much worse than we ever thought.
