Goodness gracious. My p/w for the Upper Moreland Library did not work. I called and talked to Brooke who said she would fix it. Hurry Brooke I wanna get on the list for the BOB DYLAN book which he wrote upon winning the NOBEL.

On Weds November 16, I will be one of Eva Priestly's writers and poets who will read for FIVE MINUTES to a live audience.

Love doing this!

Sarah emailed me that she is coming to visit tomorrow.

Now that is exciting!

Hey, scuse me a moment as I look out my door to see if the mailman or woman is on their way.

Any hurricanes down south?

Tropical Depression Nicole made landfall early Thursday as a Category 1 hurricane along the east coast of Florida, causing what one official said was "unprecedented" damage to structures before it raked across the central part of the state as a tropical storm. Nicole sent multiple homes toppling into the Atlantic Ocean and threatened a row of high-rise condominiums in places where Hurricane Ian washed away seawalls and other remaining protections only weeks ago.

A man and a woman died after being electrocuted by a downed power line at an intersection, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

"We are urging all of our residents and visitors to use extreme caution if they are outside in the wake of the storm today," the sheriff's office said on Facebook. "Never touch a downed power line. If you are driving and see a downed power line, change directions immediately."

North of where Nicole made landfall, first responders rushed to a couple's docked yacht early Thursday to help a 68-year-old man in distress as the boat was being battered by waves, Cocoa police said. The man died at a hospital.

"Multiple coastal homes in Wilbur-by-the-Sea have collapsed and several other properties are at imminent risk," Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said in a social media message. In the Daytona Beach area, most bridges to the beachside have been closed to all but essential personnel and a curfew was put into effect, he said.

.....

GUESS I will stay safe up here in my ole Cowbell Home. And, yes, I see the school kids n parents waiting at the bus stop for  their children. Huge umbrellas.

CHILDREN'S POEM

Rain falls from the sky

like dinner knives

silent and oh so pretty

splash in puddles with my

yellow boots on

soon we'll be home and mom

will bring out the Oreos and glass of milk.

Dunk! Dunk! Dunk!

Dylan's new book received good reviews 'even though he omitted some things.'

I will see when the book comes to my library in about 7 months.

WW ONE MEMORIAL by Sabin Howard

Ironically, it destroyed the very art Sabin Howard seeks now to restore.  It was an end to earnestness. There is of course a whole school of public memorial trafficking only in earnest cliché, the one that honors “honor” and glorifies “glory.”

But that’s not what Howard is after. “What I want is to make something relevant to our age, to find the thread that runs through humanity—that human beings can reach great heights, and they can sink to the level of the animal.”
