MY DARLING HAT
Pat's Hats carried only hats
on York Road in Hatboro, PA.
A big mirror that did not
distort our faces, only
our big thighs, glared
at me.
This was a one-of-kind hat.
If you didn't get a compliment
you were wearing it backward or
carrying it like a library book
in your arms.
It's what keeps me warm at night.
I sleep in it on my newly washed
sheets and pillowcases.
See that girl heading for her
volunteer job? C'est moi
in her darling oversize hat.

Read this terribly sad article from the NY Times about maestro James Levine who was on leave from the Metropoliton Opera House for allegations he sexually assaulted many of his students.
Now he has been fired.
Read this statement.
The
Met did not release the specific findings of its investigation, which
it said had included interviews with 70 people. But the statement said
that the investigation had “uncovered credible evidence that Mr. Levine
engaged in sexually abusive and harassing conduct toward vulnerable
artists in the early stages of their careers, over whom Mr. Levine had
authority.”
RZD - Seems to me "uncovered credible evidence" is such a namby-pamby way of saying he did terrible, demeaning, forceful and aggressive things to his students.
It said that it was terminating its relationship with Mr.
Levine, who is currently the company’s music director emeritus and the
artistic director of its young artists program.
“In
light of these findings,” the statement continued, “the Met concludes
that it would be inappropriate and impossible for Mr. Levine to continue
to work at the Met.”
Apparently he has Parkinson's disease.

I read a couple of the comments, which of course agreed with the Met. But here's what one person said:
Great to see how a wonderful institution shoots itself in the foot in the quest for politically correct behavior from anyone going back however long any one person can remember. Haven't we had enough of this warlock hunt?
