Lullabye for a Newborn Pepper
They all crowded around
Mushrooms, pecans and sunflower seeds
lettuces galore - radiccio, bibb
and baby spinach
Vinegar and Olive oil
poured across in a
wide-mouthed bowl
that makes everything
look tasty
We'll save you some
the yellow house
with the cardinal
fluffing his feathers
in the bird bath.
