Wash hands, wash hands POEM: Bill Payer

Just in from DBSA. Let's figure out what those letters mean.

Denver Broncos Salute Alabama?

Dolores Bonito's South America?

Never mind. Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance.

Okay, wish me luck. Am getting my mail now.

Twas my Comcast bill and I just paid it.

I get emails from National Geographic. On that page, Infinity, anudder name for Comcast, tells me they are suspending my subscription if I don't pay immediately.

SCAM.

The reason I pay immediately is b/c once I let the bills pile up. They were not due. But I almost forgot to pay them.

There goes the UPS truck. Years ago, I wrote a biz story for the Intelligencer on the UPS. The trucks are brown so they don't show the dirt.

In case I mysteriously disappear, most of my articles are upstairs in the hall closet in a black plastic bag.

Scuse me while I pour anudder cup of Vanilla Almond Milk.

My cough? Ate two tiny mini-Triscuits.

Gonna send a News Alert now about The QAnon group. Click here.

The writer's father is a believer in Conspiracy Theories.

BILL PAYER

As long as you have enough funds in your account
You can easily pay most bills.
Hit Transfer Funds
from Savings to Checking
Double-check everything.

Bills!
They'll keep on coming
until the day you're a goner
like the honeybee found
dead on my kitchen floor.

Poem: Dead Bee Lying on Kitchen Floor

DEAD BEE LYING ON MY KITCHEN FLOOR

I bent down and cradled her in my hand a moment

A beauty, that's for sure,

Waited for her wings to flutter

She would fly into the living room and gather nectar

from a huge magenta peony

which stands in silence like a statue

Her burial chamber, the soft wet grass

beside the house.

Honeybees’ importance in North America is less than you think

...

Just had lunch and watched a YouTube film. Since YouTube is my faithful companion, they always have a suggested film for me.

The Monkey's Cat was one of the worst films I've ever seen. I think the word that would apply is STUPID.

Why, then, did I continue watching?

Was eating my delicious salad with Russian dressing.

Plus I wanted to catch some needed Zzzzs.

And did.

...

And now I've gotta get my mail, come inside and wash my hands.

Oh, did I tell you what happened to my poor feets?

Was cutting my nails out on the back porch step. Made 2 deep cuts w scissors that drew blood.

Forewent putting on a Band-Aid.

They will heal by themselves.

Here I am at the Beechman's former house.

My nephew Miles graduates from Columbia Law School

First, though, The Times Chronicle published MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH.

Click here. Can you find the misspelling?

My electricity was out for two whole days. A wire was down.

Was sitting on the bottom step of the deck and the trees were swirling about like madly stirring cream into coffee.

My nephew Miles Greene graduated today from Columbia University. Watched the entire thing on YouTube, guided by his mom, my sister Lynn.

I waited until I saw his name. Miles Harrison Greene.

He also said something nice about Grandma Bernice who died on April 21 at age 97.

As I told Rem, I found all these great books in the lower level of my house. Dusted em off with pixie dust and now they're ready to read.

Remind me to watch EXPEDITION TO SURINAM on PBS tonight at 10. Told my friend Marcy about it this morning. Dunno if she watched, but I did, and wanna watch again.

HEY MA

You'd be so very proud
of Miles Harrison Greene
graduating from Columbia University

We believe you were there
wearing one of your lovely outfits
Lynn would buy you.

You looked great in blue
or even pink. Your closet filled
with clothes and warm sweaters
as you were always cold.

How I'd like to hold your hand
right now to warm you up.

Miss you more than I can say.
Are you surprised?
I am.

Great films on Netflix! Poem: Netflix Step into the movie

Finally my Netflix subscription paid off.

Just checked my credit card. 13.77 per month.

Watched United Flight 93. Two terrorists commandeered a plane but the passengers took control and it never landed.

"Let's roll," is a famous quote from the film.

Very suspenseful.

The film was dedicated to the brave heroes on the plane. All of whom died on that terrible day which folks my age will always remember. We are shown folks talking on their phones and saying goodbye to loved ones. One woman gave the combination on her safe where her will was hidden.

United 93 Movie Review & Film Summary (2006) | Roger Ebert

Film made in 2006.

While watching ate my dinner - 2 Heritage eggs, shrooms, a tomato which was not particularly good cooked - downed with water.

Ate mini Triscuits afterward - quite salty - and then I dental flossed - why not?

It's Sunday night and Scott will drive to work.

Very important that if a bird poops on your car, you wash it off immediately if not sooner, as dead Dad used to say.

Otherwise it will cut into the metal of your car.

My car is made of metal, not plastic.

Aunt Ethel, who had money, always drove a Caddy. Very slowly.

Please don't honk, she's over 80 and then 90.

Now, after a brief break, I will watch BORDERLANDS on Netflix.

First, a poem:

STEP INTO THE MOVIE

That's me, gunning down gangsters
with Cagney, dancing toe to toe
with Ginger and Fred,
dining at Sardi's with
the celebs.

Celebrating Holy Week with
Ben Hur and The Last Temptation
of Christ.

Aren't there any films about Jews?
Yes, Unorthodox, and the massively
boring Shtisl.

My parents took a trip to Europe and saw Charleston at a restaurant. They got his autograph.

Just visited with my darling grandchildren and their parents - We all wore masks

These pix are from the other day.

Bold Mr Chipmunk came right up to the porch steps. Shall we learn more about them?

Interesting. Take the time to read about them.

FROM  WIKI    Chipmunks have an omnivorous diet primarily consisting of seeds, nuts and other fruits, and buds.[11][12] They also commonly eat grass, shoots, and many other forms of plant matter, as well as fungi, insects and other arthropods, small frogs, worms, and bird eggs. They will also occasionally eat newly hatched baby birds.[11][12][13][14][15][16] Around humans, chipmunks can eat cultivated grains and vegetables, and other plants from farms and gardens, so they are sometimes considered pests.[11][17] Chipmunks mostly forage on the ground, but they climb trees to obtain nuts such as hazelnuts and acorns.[11][18] At the beginning of autumn, many species of chipmunk begin to stockpile nonperishable foods for winter. They mostly cache their foods in a larder in their burrows and remain in their nests until spring, unlike some other species which make many small caches of food.[11] Cheek pouches allow chipmunks to carry food items to their burrows for either storage or consumption.[12]

Hard to see but my red poppies did come back this year. One is on the left, thother on the right.

'
Thother day I walked down the street and handed out clumps of lilacs to all the neighbors.

Share the bounty!

Made a mask with the handkerchief of my dad. Can't find the apostrophe on here, tho I just did.

Nicole was drinking her cold Dunkin coffee, yum, she said she could live without it.

I may have told you while working on my short story THE BLUE ANGELS I drank vanilla almond milk.

I only noticed we ZOOMED at the very end. I showed them the dress I am wearing w/ earrings - yes - still wearing dress - and Beatriz showed us her lovely caftan.

Rem, our postal clerk, sent important feedback on my story, which I've lost, so told him to resend.

If I had my druthers I'd order a tuna hoagie from Silvio's deli.

Is your mouth watering like mine? It's only a picture.

When the kids came over, Grace Catherine was doing an acrobatic routine on the large back lawn.

Max was playing with his cars. There was a long lumber truck so he put pieces of sticks in the back.

He kept his cars in a Harry and David metal container.

I gave mine to Scott. He keeps his sewing materials in there, I think.

My friends Freda and Bernie, both 94, were profiled in a Paul's Run newsletter.

Such wonderful people!!!

Mon dieu!  The porches have ceiling fans.

I had to look up mon dieu for the spelling.

Moi!  The spelling champ in the fifth grade at Mercy Elementary in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Here's a Mercer in Okinawa.

Dat's it for now.

Gonna munch on Snyder's Dippers and rock myself to sleep.

Where's my pacifier?

My nephew Miles will graduate from Columbia University and more

Miles's mother told the Greenwold Girls about this.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, I wrote. It's from the film Mary Poppins.

I was so hot this morning I walked around the block in a dress.

I did enjoy my walk. Not a single person was out and about.

Saw my favorite house, the gray one at the end of the block.

Mom would have loved my dress. I tried wearing nice outfits when we visited on Sundays.

While walking around the block I saw a NAIL in the middle of the street.

What dyou think I did with it?

Certainly not this

I tossed it onto the sidewalk.

Watched several movies on YouTube this morning. All based on Ruth Rendell novels.

When Sarah and I went on one of our cruises, I first discovered Ruth Rendell. Since I hadn't finished one of her books, I took it home with me.

Took a while to read the entire book, after which I donated it to the Library.

Oh! A horrible thing happened when I went up to my bedroom today.

It was unmistakable. A big fat malodorous STINK BUG.

Grabbed a piece of paper and tried to flush it down the toilet.

It would not flush, so I carried it outside and hopefully drowned it in my watering can.

Last night I actually smelled it, but didn't know it was there.

Wrote an opinion column for the Times Chronicle called MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH.

Gotta write a short story by 2 30 today for our group.

Tell you what pisses me off about them. They share health information with one another. Then they say everything stays here.

May write a story about the Blue Angels.

BLUE ANGELS

Back at Village Green
a sound louder than thunder
took my breath away
War planes, flying in formation.

Never would I forget the thrill.
Even fifty years later.

Sitting outside on the back yard deck eating breakast

HEAT FEELS GREAT

The perfect breakfast requires
music, Lindsay Buckingham's new one
glad you're still alive, man,
tilted my eggs out of the sun
took huge bites while watching
the goings-on.

A festival of honeybees and bumble bees
hovered about the bridal-dress-white azaleas
and the last of Walt Whitman's lilacs, my
captain.

90 million miles away
the sun soaked my head
my outfit of the day

and I remembered.
Of course I remembered.

A woman named Bernice.

Miss you Mom. I have SO MANY QUESTIONS I want to ask you.

Where did Daddy get all those white hankies?

My house looks pretty good. Try to clean it up for all the company I do not have.
