Advice for submitting poetry - In the chair published by Literary Mama

My poem IN THE CHAIR was just published. Read it here in Literary Mama. .

My friend "Jackie" was dismayed that many of her poems are rejected after she submits them.

That's the name of the game. She asked me to review one of her poems, which I told her truthfully was remarkably good with many fine lines in it.

As I emailed her, a rejection came in from Minetta Review, which I forwarded her. Minetta and other mags say they are so goddamned honored to have you submit to them, so sorry we can't use it, but  they can't wait for you to submit more stuff.

Here's what I emailed Jackie

Important that FINE WRITING is published

AND do not pay a cent for your submissions

Also the lit mags should be attractive. I got things published in E Jasmine Review recently, but you can't find them online! Ridiculous!

Here are the lit mags where my poetry has been published.

I always try new mags and so should you!

Hey we need a nice photo.

Scott named this yellow-eyed feral cat "Smoky."

Unlike Blank, Dan's cat who looks a lot like him, Smoky is aggressive. He chased away Boots who hasn't been seen since.

And now, it's on the stationery bike for 20 mins reading the overdue libe book The Widow.

Quite good, Fiona, tho a little talky, but who's telling?
