Patronize small businesses! This colorful sign, made by the owner of "Copies to Go" caught my attention when I was driving home from a trial run to Montgomery Mall in Montgomeryville, PA, to Lightpole No. 5 for my Hagey Coach trip to DC to see the cherry blossoms and museums.
Meet Ibrahim Balogun, shop owner. Ibrahim and I had a great talk while he was copying my income tax returns. He told me about one of his bipolar workers who had a manic episode. Ibrahim took great c/o him. The guy decided to go back to Sierra Leone.
Ibrahim also introduced me to the hilariously racist comedian Bill Squire.
Orig. from Nigeria, Ibrahim worked for corporate America and made a nice salary but realized he didn't have enuf time to spend with his wife and five children. So he went into business for himself.
They make all sorts of things: signs, brochures, biz cards. They're located on Moreland Road in Willow Grove, across from Chipotle, I think.
Let's find a nice photo of Nigeria off the web. Ibrahim, a Muslim, said the Christians and Muslims are constantly fighting in Nigeria.

Ohhh, I love this poem so much. It made me cry (which doesn't take much usually and lately even less, but that's a whole other story).
ReplyDeleteMetal sculpture..What don't you do, my friend? I am impressed--in awe really!
Sarah covering the Olympics in China..Wow! I will be a faithful watcher!
And damn squirrels. Watch out because when they nest near your house, they keep on reproducing in the same locale and think they have a right to your territory. Soon they chew their way in to your home and wreak havoc. They may look cute, but they are a menace and caused us a lot of trouble a few years back.
I would like to post your poem on my blog since I did not write anything for Passover. A fitting work for the end of the holiday. May I? (Only if you are comfortable with my doing so.) Let me know soon--maybe by email if you wish.
